Image Optimization
Proper labeling of images tells your visitors where they’re going. This descriptive labeling is just another way to good and friendly search engine design yet it’s a practice very often ignored. Image labeling makes the site spider friendly and if your website offers something that is unique and interesting to your target audience and is properly optimized you will rank well within the major search engines.
An image on your website that is not optimized is an image worth zero to search engines. Search engines will not recognize images effectively that are not optimized, and if they are not optimized you most likely are loosing out on converting traffic. For example screen readers who use text or speech browsers may not be able to surf your website.
The most common mistake in optimizing images is not identifying what they are. Identifying images with your keywords will help rank your image and consequently improve your website’s visibility in the search engines. Using keywords that are relevant and pertain to the image increases the instances of keywords on that page.
Remember
Keep in mind that it's important to make your website more accessible to search engines and to all kinds of visitors.
